Prior to that, he was Partner at the seed VC WestTech Ventures for 6 years, and previously co-founder and Vorstand of the German Startups Group Berlin AG, also a Berlin-based seed VC. After starting his career in consulting with Arthur Andersen in Frankfurt am Main, he joined a B2B software startup in Berlin, a city which he loves but also enjoys escaping from on the weekends to hike or explore other regions.

Maurice is an investor at seed+speed Ventures in Berlin, Germany and a Venture Partner at Maschmeyer Group Ventures in Los Angeles, USA. He is continually an active mentor to accelerators across Europe and the US. He graduated with a Transportation Design degree from ArtCenter College of Design, Pasadena and a Master of Science in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from USC. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, surfing, skiing, weightlifting, and meeting new people.

INVESTMENT MANAGER

Karsten Mitzinnek

Karsten has been working for Carsten Maschmeyer for over 20 years. He managed the ecommerce division of an MDAX company, subsequently advised DAX companies and sales organizations with his sales & marketing expertise. As a founder, he is very familiar with all the challenges of a start-up. In addition to his work as an investment manager, he also supports spin-offs of the group and coaches founders in the areas of neuromarketing, organizational development and leadership. He manages many of Carsten Maschmeyer’s investments from “Die Höhle der Löwen” and is our internal expert for all things health tech. His other investment interests cover edtech, fintech, insurtech and much more.

INVESTMENT MANAGER

Mathias Bosse

Before joining seed + speed Ventures in 2019 Mathias worked as management consultant for EY and served as a CFO of an eHealth startup. He first began investing in startups at Brandenburg Kapital 2017, where he invested in the teams of Motiontag, Cloudradar and Styla (among others). His investment interests span B2B software including but not limited to cybersecurity, supply chain, mobility and IoT. Other than playing soccer, his witty daughters keep him on the ball.

INVESTMENT MANAGER

Alexander Hahn

Alex has been with seed + speed since its inception, and previously worked at our sister fund ALSTIN in parallel to his political career in leading positions of the German liberal party (FDP). He started his career in journalism based on his degree in politics and administration.

LEGAL ADVISOR

Dr. Jesko Petersen

Jesko has been the legal advisor of the Maschmeyer Family Office (Holding) since 2013. At seed + speed Ventures he is responsible for all legal matters. He attaches particular importance to precise, effective work, economic thinking and team spirit.

ASSOCIATE

Katharina Kunze

Katharina supports all parts of the dealflow process and manages portfolio startups. Prior to joining seed + speed she founded and ran an admissions consulting startup. She previously graduated from Oxford University, began her career at Oliver Wyman consulting financial services clients – resulting in her fintech interest today, and then led 4 countries’ economic and political forecasts at The Economist Intelligence Unit, before working operationally at mymuesli. Katharina’s investment interests span topics relating to decentralisation/privacy/governance, education, fintech, cybersecurity and more; and she spends her free time doing yoga, kickboxing and other sports with colleagues and friends.

ASSOCIATE

Markus Börner

Markus joined the seed + speed team in 2020 following 2.5 years at S-Beteiligungen Leipzig and Technologiegründerfonds Sachsen (TGFS), where he acquired the skills of the VC trade and completed both early-stage and PE deals. His investment interests are broad, spanning blockchain and cybersecurity to ehealth, energy, mobility/logistics, esports and more. Other than kicking a** at the office, he could probably kick a lot more using his martial arts training.

FINANCE

Saskia Schmedes

Saskia Schmedes has been with the Maschmeyer Group since 2012 and has accompanied seed + speed Ventures since its founding. As an experienced bank clerk, she takes care of HR administration, payment transactions and other general management tasks.
